Christmas and New Year greetings in Spanish

In this article we will learn some Spanish greetings that you can say to your Spanish friends and relatives or that you can write in Christmas cards. We will start with the more simple expressions and then look at some more complex structures for more advanced learners of Spanish. (Don’t forget the upside down exclamation mark at the beginning!)

¡Feliz Navidad!: Happy Christmas!
¡Feliz Año Nuevo!: Happy New Year! [when speaking to people this is often shortened to ¡Feliz Año!]
¡Felices Fiestas!: Happy Holidays!

Te deseo una Feliz Navidad.: I wish you a happy Christmas. [addressing one person]
Os deseo una Feliz Navidad.: I wish you a happy Christmas. [addressing more than one person]

[more formal/someone you know less well]
Le deseo una Feliz Navidad.: I wish you a happy Christmas. [addressing one person]
Les deseo una Feliz Navidad.: I wish you a happy Christmas. [addressing more than one person]
Te / Os / Le / Les deseamos una Feliz Navidad.: We wish you a happy Christmas.
