The Chinese character strokes and stroke orders

The Chinese characters are consist of different stokes, from the simplest to the most complex characters, they all share the same strokes, and there are eight most basic strokes.

When writing a character, we need to follow specific orders and directions to form a harmonic looking character.

 

2nd a horizontal a horizontal stroke starts from left to right

 

2nd righta vertical stroke starts from top to bottom

2nd a right sweepinga right sweeping upward stroke starts from bottom to top

2nd a left sweepinga left sweeping downward stroke starts from top to bottom

2nd a right sweeping downwarda right sweeping downward stroke starts from top to bottom

Most strokes are written from left to right and top to bottom.
